The Feeding Scene of a Sundew Observed with a Field Microscope

The sundew on the veranda caught an insect. At first, I was recording a video, but since the tentacles seemed to be moving, I decided to shoot a time-lapse. The tentacles moved as if pressing the captured insect onto the leaf's surface. It appears that the plant 'feeds' on the insect on the leaf's surface. I was surprised by this unexpected movement, as I had thought the tentacles absorbed nutrients directly.
