Insect Photography: A Lynx Spider on a Ranunculus Bloom

It’s been a while since my last insect photo post, but I’m happy to share a new one today.

It’s been a year since our research facility relocated, and the garden has finally begun to settle. With that, a variety of insects have started to return — a welcome sign of balance and life.

The other day, I spotted a lynx spider quietly nestled in the bud of a ranunculus flower. It was a peaceful and captivating scene, so naturally, I reached for my camera.

I’ve been hoping to photograph moments like this with my field microscope as well, but haven’t had much success yet — wind and setup difficulties have gotten in the way. Still, I’m looking forward to the day I can capture this tiny world in even greater detail.
