New LED Lighting Model for BH2 UMA Now Available

The new model of the LED lighting kit for the BH2 UMA is now complete and available for purchase starting today. This version is a completely new design. Although we aimed for higher brightness than the previous model, the design of the BH2 UMA vertical illuminator limits the amount of light it can accept. As a result, the brightness is the same as the previous model.

The original light source for the BH2 UMA vertical illuminator was a 50W halogen lamp. The new LED model provides approximately 2 to 2.5 times the brightness of that original halogen lamp.

When photographing or recording video, flickering may occur at shutter speeds faster than 1/200 second. To avoid this, set the LED brightness to maximum. If the light is too intense, use an ND filter to adjust the brightness. Since reflected illumination tends to be dimmer than transmitted illumination, it’s unlikely that the lighting will be too bright in most cases.
